Shanu's Story

For a rural girl, learning to use computer technology provides valuable access to information that creates greater opportunities, more confidence, and important tools to help and protect their families.

S M Sehgal Foundation’s digital and life-skills education component of the Transform Lives one school at a time program taught Shanu, a Class 9 student in rural Rajasthan, how to recognize online scams and she protected her family from cyber fraud. Shanu recognized the warning signs when her family received a message claiming they had won a car jackpot.  She stopped her family from becoming victims of the scam.

“If we had not learned about cybersecurity, we might have lost our money which was earned from a lot of hard work.” ~Shanu
